Mykolaiv City Council to Allocate ₴50M for Debt Repayment and Budget Amendments on April 24, 2025

A regular session of the city council has been convened in Mykolaiv. In particular, it is planned to allocate 50 million to pay off the debts of Mykolaivoblteploenergo, to amend the budget, the composition of the executive committee and the city development program.
Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych signed a decree to convene the forty-third session of the Mykolaiv City Council of the VIII convocation. The plenary session will be held on April 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. via video conference.
During the meeting, the deputies will consider budget, land and other current issues. Everyone will be able to follow the session online - the broadcast will be available on the YouTube channel and the official website of the city council. Intent will traditionally broadcast online.
It is planned to consider draft decisions, including those on amendments to the budget of the Mykolaiv City Territorial Community for 2025.
The draft states that UAH 50 million provided for replenishment of the authorized capital of the municipal enterprise Mykolaivoblteploenergo is planned to be used to repay debts under sub-loan agreements with international financial organizations. They are also to approve the budget expenditures of the Mykolaiv City Territorial Community for 2025.
They also plan to consider a decision to approve recommendations for pruning tree crowns on the territory. They also plan to make amendments to the decision to accept 7 integral property complexes of vocational education institutions into communal ownership.
Among other things, the deputies will have to make changes to the composition of the executive committee and decide whether to keep former regional council deputy Yuriy Kormyshkin as a member of the committee. In addition, they will have to make changes to the program of economic and social development of Mykolaiv for 2024-2026.
At the last session, Mykolaiv city council decided to buy out a tram substation, an architectural monument of local significance located in the Ingul district. The historic building is part of the city's heritage and a symbol of the development of electric transport in the early twentieth century. The authorities aim to ensure the preservation of its authentic appearance and attract investors who will not only restore the facility but also fill it with new content.
In addition, as part of the budget amendments, it was decided to allocate UAH 1.5 billion for social protection measures. In particular, it provides for financial assistance to the families of deceased veterans and military personnel, compensation for the treatment of people with disabilities, and support for citizens affected by the Chernobyl accident.
