Two MPs from Mykolaiv region, Artem Chornomorov and Oleksandr Pasichnyi, received UAH 75,550 in compensation from the state budget for renting housing in two months of 2025. In particular, Chornomorov was paid UAH 38,350, and Pasichnyi received UAH 37,200.

The relevant documents were published by the press service of the parliament.

Artem Chornomorov received UAH 20,150 in compensation for rent in January and UAH 18,200 in February. Oleksandr Pasichnyi received UAH 19,000 in January and UAH 18,200 in February.

Earlier, the Center for Public Investigations analyzed the declarations of these two MPs for 2024 and found that Artem Chornomorov kept $170,000 in cash, owned luxury watches, real estate and land.

At the same time , Oleksandr Pasichnyi owns land plots, several apartments, premium cars, and has declared millions in family income, corporate rights, and significant amounts of cash in foreign currency.

In addition, in January and February 2025, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine paid UAH 191.1 thousand to MPs elected to defend the interests of Odesa region as compensation for the cost of renting a house or renting a hotel room.

By the way, the parliament proposes to increase the amount of compensation for MPs for rent and travel. The relevant draft resolution was published on April 28. It was initiated by MP Serhiy Kalchenko from the Servant of the People party.

The document refers to changes to the appendix to the Verkhovna Rada's budget for 2025, in particular in terms of housing and transportation costs for MPs. As a reminder, the current legislation provides for monthly payments to compensate for the cost of travel and rent of housing or a hotel room.

The amounts of these payments were last revised in 2017-2018, and, according to the authors of the initiative, they no longer correspond to the current economic conditions. The explanatory note notes that since 2018, fuel prices have increased more than 4 times, and utility rates have increased by an average of 59%.

Currently, travel compensation amounts to UAH 7.5 thousand per month, and housing compensation ranges from UAH 18.2 to 20.15 thousand, depending on the length of the month. The proposed changes should align these amounts with market prices for housing, transportation and utilities.

The resolution has been submitted to the Parliamentary Committee for consideration. If approved, the document will be put to a vote in the session hall.
