Mykolaiv Hospital Receives ₴32.9M for Emergency Department Overhaul

The reconstruction of a local multidisciplinary hospital has started in Mykolaiv region. It is planned to renovate the hospital's emergency department. More than UAH 32 million is planned to be raised for this purpose.
This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the DREAM digital recovery ecosystem.
It is planned to reconstruct the premises of the reception department of the municipal non-profit enterprise "Yuzhnoukrainska City Multidisciplinary Hospital".
The project involves the redevelopment, completion and modernization of utilities to improve the efficiency of medical care and ensure barrier-free access for all patients.

The works will include the creation of three separate entrances, a platform for sanitizing vehicles, as well as special areas for patient triage, resuscitation and general medical examination.
Particular attention will be paid to safety and compliance with modern civil protection standards, as well as to ensuring physical security in the observation area around the South Ukrainian NPP.
The project has already received partial funding from the local budget in the amount of UAH 450 thousand, which is about 1.37% of the total amount. A total of UAH 32.9 million is to be raised for the project. The project is coordinated by the Ministry of Community Development.

According to the description, the goal of the project is to create safe conditions for patients and medical staff during wartime to protect them from modern weapons of mass destruction, and in peacetime from possible accidents, disasters, and natural disasters.
In addition, Kherson plans to overhaul the basement of the regional clinical hospital to turn it into a full-fledged shelter that will ensure the safety of patients and medical staff during shelling. The total cost of the project is over UAH 38 million. It is currently being approved, but the sources of funding have not yet been confirmed.
In addition, the Kherson Regional Oncology Center plans to renovate a separate room to install a modern magnetic resonance imaging scanner. The cost of this project is UAH 45.5 million, and funding has not yet been secured.
