Irina Danilovich, a political prisoner from Crimea, was deprived of medical care and communication with her family in a Russian colony. In the colony in Zelenokumsk, Stavropol Territory, Russia, conditions have been created that make it virtually impossible for political prisoner Irina Danilovich to receive medicines, either from the outside or through the medical unit.

This was reported by the ZMINA Human Rights Center.

Irina Danilovich, who suffers from constant ear pain and migraines, does not receive the necessary medications to alleviate her condition. In addition, the colony restricts her right to telephone conversations with her family, refusing to add two new contacts to the list of those allowed to communicate.

Such restrictions put additional moral pressure on Danilovich, human rights activists say. She is living in appalling conditions in the penal colony, where abuse by guards, poor water, and lack of food and medical care have become her daily routine. Rats and cockroaches are also common in the colony.

Iryna Danilovych is a nurse, civic activist and journalist from Crimea who fought for the rights of medical workers and exposed healthcare violations on the occupied peninsula. She was kidnapped by the AFU on April 29 and was held in a basement until May 7 without legal status or legal assistance. After an illegal trial in Feodosia on December 28, 2022, she was sentenced to seven years in prison for allegedly possessing explosives.

Danilovich suffers from severe headaches and suspected ear inflammation, which can lead to brain inflammation and death. On March 26, the EU expressed concern about her condition and called for medical assistance, while UN Special Rapporteur Mary Lawlor called on Russia to release her immediately.

Recently, Crimean human rights activist and citizen journalist Irina Danilovich complained that she was suffering from severe heart pain that prevented her from sleeping properly. She believes that the pain is a result of the torture she suffered during the first months of her arrest.

Danilovich is being held in appalling conditions in a penal colony in the Stavropol Territory of the Russian Federation, where she and other prisoners are forced to endure abuse by convoys, drink foul-smelling water due to animal corpses in the water supply system, stand for hours in the rain and freezing temperatures, and suffer from a lack of food and proper medical care.
