In Pivdenne, Odesa region, a court found a serviceman who was detained with a particularly dangerous psychotropic substance guilty. He was sentenced to a fine.

This is stated in the verdict published in the Unified Register of Court Decisions.

According to the case file, a native of Cherkasy region, who served in a military unit in Odesa region as a driver-paramedic, purchased a package of drugs and kept it with him for his own use.

On November 10, 2022, the man was stopped by police on a field road in Pivdenne. During the inspection at the scene, law enforcement officers seized a package containing 0.687 grams of PVP. This amount exceeds the limit of "small amount" set by the order of the Ministry of Health, so the fact of possession was considered a criminal offense.

During the investigation, the defendant pleaded guilty, sincerely repented and agreed to consider the case in a simplified manner - without summoning the participants to the court hearing.

The court, taking into account his sincere remorse, positive characterization from his place of service, no criminal record and the fact that he was not registered with a narcologist or psychiatrist, sentenced him to a fine of 17 thousand hryvnias. He was also charged another UAH 2,390 in procedural costs for the examination.

Meanwhile, the Prymorskyi Court of Odesa sentenced a serviceman who purchased a package of amphetamine for his own use.

Earlier, the Suvorov District Court of Odesa sentenced a serviceman for evading conscription during mobilization.

And the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi City District Court of Odesa Oblast fined a serviceman for trying to prevent police from detaining his brother with a shovel.
