A traditional rally in support of prisoners of war and to remind people about missing persons took place on May 11 on Deribasovskaya Street in Odesa.

This time, it became known at the rally that one of the mothers, who had been coming out to support others for weeks on end, learned that her son Dmytro Kucher had died at the front, Novosti.LIVE reported.

"Forever 26. Dmytro was a good son and a wonderful person, he always supported others. He died in the fight for us - for his mother and for each of us who can live today. We ask everyone who is around to stop for a minute in his memory," a participant of the action addressed the citizens of Odesa.

After that, the participants of the action honored the memory of the deceased with a minute of silence.

The action was also attended by a woman whose brother has been in captivity since the first day of the full-scale war. She said that she continues to fight for his release, travels to different cities to attend rallies and does not give up. The woman criticized the actions of the International Red Cross, which, according to her, does not provide sufficient assistance to Ukrainian prisoners.

The participants promised to come out again and again until the last prisoner returns home. The organizer of the action, Anna Pazhera, called on the citizens not to remain indifferent and join the action.

On May 6, Ukraine and Russia exchanged prisoners of war, and 205 of our defenders returned to Ukraine, including 40 soldiers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Intent has already written about how Ukraine returned 95 soldiers from Russian captivity. The peculiarity of that exchange was that many Ukrainians returned home who had received so-called "sentences" from the aggressor country's judicial system and were "convicted": 28 to long sentences, and 20 to life imprisonment for defending their own land from the aggressor. Among the released prisoners was journalist, human rights activist, co-founder of Hromadske Radio and the Zmina Human Rights Center Maksym Butkevych.
