On the night of January 30, 2025, Izmail came under an enemy drone attack. 5 apartment buildings, 15 private houses, two educational institutions, a grain warehouse, a medical facility, and cars were damaged.
A 26-year-old woman was injured, the wife of a border guard who was on duty that ill-fated night. During the drone attack, the woman managed to save her seven-year-old son by covering him with a blanket. The victim was taken to the intensive care unit.
